Linguist

I'm a linguist specializing in natural language syntax, especially head movement, ellipsis and ellipsis-like constructions, and related phenomena. I've done work on ellipsis in parentheticals, ellipsis diagnostics, movement out of ellipsis sites, definiteness marking, and the proper timing of head movement in the grammar. I also occasionally do work in morphology and its interfaces with Syntax and Phonology, and I have an interest in North Germanic languages (Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish) and Western Romance languages (Spanish and Portuguese). I've taught linguistics at the University of Massachusetts and the University of Toronto.

New blog!

I've decided to start keeping a small blog where I can write about things other than formal linguistics. You can read the posts here!
